Colleen Hoover began her writing journey in November 2011. Her debut novel “Slammed” was all behind her success. She wrote this novel without any plan of publication. Just vibing in her own world and inspired by an Avett Brothers’ song, she self-published “Slammed” in January 2012. This novel got some coverage, which motivated Colleen to write a sequel to Slammed. She then wrote “Point of Retreat” in February 2012. Both books gained fame after receiving great reviews. The turn was when it was included in the New York Times Best Seller list.
