Top 7 Must-Read Books for April 2024

It all began when I met Sarah at the airport while waiting for my flight, and she came and sat beside me. After a while, she picked a book from her bag and started reading. I tried to see the book’s name, but I couldn’t find the name as she had folded half of the book while reading. My curiosity elevated, and after a few minutes, I started a conversation with her, like “How are you”? If you don’t mind, what book are you reading? She said, “Absolutely not; I am reading “Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth”.

Best Reads of the Month:

Thanks to Sarah for helping us choose what to read this month. I was curious about how she chose from the thousands of books available. She gave a simple rule: read the reviews first and then pick the book. I really like her rule. Do you like it, too?

Funny Story by Emily Henry:

Summary:

This story is about Daphne and her fiancé Peter, who have started living in Michigan. Daphne is excited about it when things get messed up for her. She is over the moon that she will live happily with Peter, but things go against her expectations when Peter dumps Daphne for his childhood friend Petra.

Funny Story by Emily Henry

As Peter left him, Daphne searched for a new place to live. She finally found Miles Nowak to share the apartment with. Interestingly, Miles is Petra’s ex-boyfriend. Miles has a confusing personality, while Daphne is his opposite. Daphne isn’t very fond of interacting with people and stays reserved while interacting with them.

Both the rejected persons, Daphne and Mile, create a clever plan and pretend that they are a couple now to make their exes jealous. Now, it’s a surprise that either this will merely be a plan or something else might cook in between them during this game plan. What are your guesses?

Thought:

The teaser has made me curious already. How about you? I want to dig in to find out how well Daphne and Mile’s plan worked out. Were they able to manipulatively make Peter and Petra envious of their close bond, or did it make no difference to them, and Daphne and Mile actually fell in love? I think we will have to wait till the 23rd to find out about the destiny of this mischievous idea.

First, they were strangers, then they were roommates,

Then… Well, it’s a FUNNY STORY

Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez:

Summary:

The story is about Justin and Emma, who are thought to be cursed, as whenever they go on a date with someone, it does not work out. The person they date gets hooked on the very next one they date. The hilarious part is that people jokingly want to date Justin and Emma; they know it won’t work with them, but people will find their soulmates in whoever they meet after dating them. I am already laughing while writing it. Did you get a grin on your face, too? 😀

Just for The Summer by Abby Jimenez

Justin writes his story on a social platform, and Emma messages him, saying that this is exactly her story, too. Both of them plan to date each other to see if the curse is cancelled, and then they will break up. Justin and Emma go on a summer vacation to a beautiful location near a lake.

Apparently, it was a summer fling (they were supposed to date only in summer and then leave each other), but things turned out differently. Any guesses? Let me give a hint: They fall in love. Does this mean they are going to be a perfect couple? The book has just been released, so I think it’s time we grab our copies to find out the ending.

Thought:

This is an interesting and captivating story about the fate of two people who meet randomly on a social platform. Emma’s friend Maddie deserves a special mention, as she has been with her through thick and thin. She is the perfect example of what a best friend should really be like. Oh, this made me miss my best friend.

The best kind of love doesn’t happen on moonlit walks and romantic vacations. It happens in between the folds of everyday life.

King of Sloth (Kings of Sin, #4) by Ana Huang:

Summary:

King of Sloth (Kings of Sin, #4 by Ana Huang

Sloane is a famous publicist who is known to handle tough cases. She is in a situation where she is compelled to work for Xavier. Do you think Sloane will ever fall for Xavier while working, or will he be another client for her? We will have to hold our horses to find out until the book is out for reading.

Thought:

Let’s hope it is not a regular love story like boys casually chasing girls. Apparently, Xavier has a charming personality, but we are left clueless until we read the book ourselves about why Sloane is avoiding him. Or will she ultimately get attracted by his heaps of inheritance and sharp dimples? I am still guessing while waiting for the official release of this book.

“I don’t want a kiss or one night stand. I want you.”

The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson:

Summary:

It is a true crime mystery bound to keep you on your toes throughout the end. The story includes 18 years old girl named Bel who was around two years old when her mother went missing all of a sudden, but since she was so young, she does not remember anything from that time. It is assumed that Rachel Price is dead, but years later, everyone wants to solve the mystery of her going missing like this.

The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson

It was decided to shoot a documentary to solve this mystery, and something strange happened while shooting. Any idea about what happened? You might be guessing right. Rachel showed up in the woods but it is hard for everyone to believe. What might have happened to Rachel? Is she really alive? We will have to read this novel to uncover the truth of Rachel Price.

The Rule Book by Sarah Adams:

Summary:

Nora is all set to begin her career as a sports agent but things go against her expectation as her first client is Derek who happens to be her college ex-boyfriend. Both of them have seen each other nearly after a decade. Nora had her own reasons for ending this relationship, but this incident shattered Derek.

The Rule Book by Sarah Adams

But as time went by, Derek seemed to move on. They begin their working relationship. Do you think things got better between them? Well, initially, not really, because Derek holds a grudge against Nora and decides to teach her a lesson. But things turned out differently. Guess what? A romance began again between them. This romance can get them married or split them once and for all.

Thought:

This can be an appealing read, as it shows Derek’s plan to teach Nora a lesson. The story portrays different relationships between two people, from lovers to enemies, to working subordinates, to revenge takers to lovers again. This rollercoaster of changing roles sounds captivating and engaging for readers to discover their relationship’s destiny.

Heart, banter, and two characters you’ll immediately root for… fantastically swoony, sweet, and sexy.

Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth:

Summary:

Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth

Three of them bear Holly’s torcher for about two years and, at last, gather the courage to confront the wrongdoings they have been bearing. Later, a dead body is found beneath the home they’ve been living in. Now the question is, are these foster sisters witnesses of this corpse, or are they suspicious regarding this incident? What do you think?

Thought:

The author successfully creates suspense in this story to hook the readers until the end. Mysterious stories get interesting with every page we turn, and we want to know nothing but the truth that is somewhat kept under the rug. One moment, I thought, the dead body could be Holly’s, and these sisters might have planned something to get rid of her.

The other moment, I was guessing it might be of someone from any of the family members of the three girls. Who do you think the dead person is? And who buried it there? Let’s wait until the book is released. I cannot wait to grab my copy.

“People underestimate the role fate plays in our lives.”
