Hey, what’s up!! Readers, today I’m back with another book review of one of the most famous novels by Colleen Hoover, November 9. I’m going to take you into the depth of this book. I have gone very deeply into this epic novel, so I thought to share it with you guys, which may help you to get your answers related to this book; some people have reading issues, and some think this book is good for them to read or not and many more questions.
Here’s everything you need to keep in mind before reading “November 9,” so let’s start without wasting your time reading my blah blah.
November 9 by Colleen Hoover Overview:
Colleen Hoover is one of the most heartbreaking book authors I have ever seen; she writes modern romantic novels. This is one of her best romantic books, “November 9”, a standalone novel released in 2015. This is one of the bittersweet and damaging novels by Colleen Hoover.
It shows the life of an aspiring writer and former actress. Hoover presents Ben, a young man who has dreams of becoming a writer. Ben is acquainted with Fallon, who is about to launch a massive move to the other side of the homeland. This fatal meeting sets a connection that will cross time and place.
Ben feels presently encouraged by Fallon’s company, and although their connection is short-lived, she kindles something special deep inside him. Fallon is Ben’s source of motivation, and after meeting this immature woman, he is finally inspired to complete his book. Life continues for Ben and Fallon, leaving a bunch of shifts. But a pact Ben and Fallon made resumes to unite them once a year.
However, Ben may have risked his unique relationship with Fallon when she discovers the reason for his annual meeting with her. Will this love tale be completed or be eliminated?
AGE RESTRICTIONS:
Like all other Colleen Hoover books like “It Starts With Us” and “Reminders of Him,“ this book also demands maturity. Usually, I don’t pay much attention to mature and physical content, but how Colleen described them was increasing my heart rate. “NOVEMBER 9” is an adult book. If you are over your teenage years, consider reading this book.
As far as your age, the reader should be at least 16-17
GENRE:
The novel targets all Modern Fantasy, Love, Drama, and dark Fantasy. Real feelings with a blend of fiction and adorned writing methods are all an exciting book should have. “NOVEMBER 9” is spicy as well. Occasionally emotional, changing between pleased and unhappy, a great mixture of emotions. This novel includes many spicy scenes.
Number Of Pages and Chapters:
The novel “NOVEMBER 9” by Colleen Hoover has around 320 pages. Pages can be different depending on the publishers of the book. My book has 320 pages, which is good enough to complete the story and is suitable for many readers to read easily and on time.
CHAPTERS:
“NOVEMBER 9” by Colleen Hoover has around 50 chapters.
Number of Sold copies:
In 2019, the novel had sold more than one million copies worldwide. (This data stems from Colleen Hoover’s Wikipedia page)On Goodreads, “November 9” has over 1 million ratings and thoughts, and over 83,000 individuals added it to their “want to read” shelf.
MAIN THEME:
November 9 explores the complexity of love and relationships, especially through the strange connection between Fallon and Ben. Both couples face personal challenges, face their pasts, and finally learn and grow as individuals.
I think that Fallon maintains both physical and dynamic scars from a traumatic incident. The novel explores her journey towards accepting these spots and discovering beauty and strength within them.
Why November 9?
The main logic behind this novel name, November 9, is that most of the events in the novel occur on November 9; Ben and Fallon meet each other, on November 9 and meet each other every year on this same date, and Ben’s mother commits suicide on this date. So this is the reason behind the book title.

The story starts with the bargaining of father Donovan with his daughter Fallon, who wants her daughter to be an actress, but Fallon doesn’t want to be as her face was burned due to a past incident in which their house was burned, and Fallon one side of her face was burn. She wants to go to New York for book narration, but her father is not letting her go as he wants her to become an actress.
“It took four years for me to fall in love with him. It only took four pages to stop.”
Colleen Hoover, November 9
She was an actor, but due to a tragic incident, she couldn’t. While listening to their conversation, a boy, Ben, standing there, comes to his father and says that he is dating his daughter, which forced her father to stop arguing with Fallon; this makes her so nervous and shocked as she does not know who he is and what he is saying. When her father goes away, he tells her that she can fake date him for a few days.
He will convince her father about her passion. Fallon asked him why he was doing this, and he said that he was only helping her and did not want any benefit. The date they met was November 9, and they think that they will only meet on this date every year and will not talk and meet each other for the rest of the year. They also did not share their social media accounts with each other and set the timing when they will meet next November.
On November 2, Fallon came to meet Ben from New York, and he introduced Fallon to his family members.
On November 3, Ben decided that he would go to meet Fallon in New York. Fallon is a waiter in the restaurant. While she is serving food, she receives a call from Ben, and he tells her that he can’t come to New York as his brother has died, which makes Fallon upset for Ben, and she decides to visit him. Now they started to feel each other feelings and were coming closer to each other, which made them exchange their numbers.

Ben decides that he will sell his house and shift to New York with Fallon, but a twist in the story occurs in the story at this point. Ben’s sister in law was disagrees with Ben about selling the house, and she wants to stay here. She can’t handle the whole house alone and wants Ben to stay with her. Fallon suggested Ben stay at his home with her sister-in-law, and Fallon left for New York.
On November 4, Fallon visits Ben for a meeting, and she gives him a huge surprise that she has moved here permanently and will now stay here. While having a conversation, she got to know that Ben was dating his sister-in-law, which made Fallon sad. She told Ben to finish everything that was among them, and now they will not meet on November 9.
On November 5, Ben thought that Fallon would come to visit him, but she did not, which made him guilty and sad, and he decided to find Fallon and convince her to come with him and forget the past. He goes to the club where Fallon is with her friends; Ben convinces her and feels guilty about what he has done. Fallon accepts him and gets ready to go with him to his house.
“My flaws are what wake me up in the morning and what keep me awake every night”.
Colleen Hoover, November 9
When she entered the house, she saw manuscripts, which made Fallon look at them. Ben was writing the book when she read some of the pages. She got to know the incident that happened to her in which her house caught fire was due to Ben. She broke up with Ben and decided not to meet with him in her entire life, and she doesn’t want to see Ben ever in her life.
On November 8, rather than November 9, Ben took the manuscript, gave it to Fallon, and told her to read it carefully. When she read all that, she got to know that Ben’s mother was in an affair with Fallon’s Father, and Ben’s mother do suicide because of Fallon’s father; he set Fallon’s father’s house on fire. This makes Fallon forgive Ben, and they again come into a relationship and live happily, and this story ends here Happily:)
Caution:
(This summary avoids major spoilers to keep the wonder and dynamic effect of the story. It’s important to experience the book’s complexity, character disclosures, and emotional voyage firsthand).
MY REVIEW:
While reading this book, I felt too much energetic when there were romantic scenes. This book is easier than the other books by Colleen Hoover. The novel is very easy to understand, and the story is not as much as other books are. I really liked the both couples in the novel as ups and downs in there life but they still try something to get back in relation. There are many romantic scenes that blew my mind, tbh ahah!!!.
The plotline of this story varies from other romance novels, which makes it a good read. There are so many beautiful speeches and quotes in this book. This also is one of the significant factors I like about Colleen’s books: her way of choosing wise words and blending them to form such beautiful sentences, which eventually turn into heart-melting passages. She also provides distinction in her every book. This book can take a week to be completed.
CONCLUSION:
In the end, Fallon discovers the fire wasn’t Ben’s fault but a tragic consequence of his mother’s actions. While forgiveness isn’t easy, she finally opens her heart to understanding. Their future isn’t explicitly stated, but both choose to look ahead, carrying the lessons and scars of the past. They may move forward together or individually. The love is not as simple as we think.
We can have an example of Ben and Fallon, how they are trying to be in a good relationship. I highly suggest this novel for teenage girls and people who are curious about romance novels. It is an excellent novel that the reader can not skip a scene as every scene is a masterpiece. Go and buy it, MAN!!!
