Top 7 Must-Read Fantasy: Books Like Fourth Wing

Books Like Fourth Wing:

I was about to add my best five picks, but when I texted my friend Alina for her suggestion, she asked me to add something more alongside standalone reads. Her invaluable insight prompted a shift in perspective, and I should also include something for long-term reading, like a series. No doubt, it was her idea, but you are my audience, so credit goes to me, LOL.

How I picked them up?

I get a lot of suggestions, mainly from the guys in the library. I have always admired asking questions and answering them as well. Books are liked based on characters, genre, and author. Looking for a book like the other must meet these requirements.

My list is solely based on these, and I assure you you will have genuine fun. It feels good when we find what we are looking for. Aren’t you excited for Dragons, Witches, Magic, Fantasy, and Romance? If you get addicted, it’s not up to me 😉 The magical world will make you stick to it.

Let’s take a closer look at these books:

Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros:

Iron Flame is a sequel to Fourth Wing. Violet Sorrengail, like everyone else, expected to face death in her first year at the college. But surviving the initial test, called Threshing, was just the beginning. Now, the actual training starts, and Violet worries about how tough it will be. The training isn’t just hard physically; it’s also mentally challenging.

Iron Flame

The new vice commandant is particularly tough on Violet, trying to make her feel powerless unless she turns against her loved one. Violet may not be as physically strong as others, but she’s smart and determined. She believes in making her own path even if it breaks the rules. However, more than survival might be needed this time.

There’s a big secret at Basgiath War College, and Violet knows it. And when the truth comes out, even the power of dragons might be unable to save them all.

The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling

Nine years ago, Vivienne Jones, a young witch, dealt with her heartbreak in typical witch fashion. Now, she is all about drinking vodka, listening to sad music, taking bubble baths, and casting a curse on her awful boyfriend. Even though Vivi knows it’s not right to use magic this way, she thinks a simple candle won’t do much harm, maybe mess up her ex’s hair for a bit.

The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling

But things turn when Rhys Penhallow, a descendant of the town’s founders and a notorious heartbreaker who’s as good-looking as ever, returns to Graves Glen, Georgia. What was supposed to be a quick visit to boost the town’s magical energy and attend a festival must be corrected. Strange disasters start happening to Rhys, making Vivi realize that her spell might not have been as harmless as she thought.

Graves Glen is attacked by strange wind-up toys, an angry ghost, and a talking cat with some surprising things to say. Vivi and Rhys must put aside their intense attraction to each other and work together to save the town and break the curse before it’s too late.

Crave by Tracy Wolff:

Everything changed for Grace when she entered the academy after her parent’s death. She was brought to Alaska to complete her studies. The academy and the students there were strange. She doesn’t belong there like a regular person among powerful beings. Grace needs to find out if she fits in with any of them. They all seem to dislike her.

Crave by Tracy Wolff

Then there’s Jaxon Vega, a vampire with secrets. He hasn’t felt anything for a long time. But there’s something about him that attracts Grace. Something about him feels like it matches what’s broken in Grace.

But this could be dangerous for everyone. Jaxon closed himself off for a reason. Now, someone wants to wake him up, and Grace starts to think she was brought here on purpose, maybe as bait. Although this is a series, this book will be enough for you to read as other ones are boring because of the same repeated scenes.

The Last Dragon King by Leia Stone:

The Dragon King has decided to marry, so he is looking for a wife. This news thrilled all the women in the village, and they were highly excited. The king’s guards would select potential wives to live in his grand castle in Jade City. However, there was a catch – the chosen woman must possess enough magic to bear the king’s child.

The Last Dragon King

Arwen, unfortunately, didn’t possess much magic. Arwen only had a small amount of dragon magic in me, just ten percent. She felt confident she wouldn’t be chosen. Despite her doubts, the magic testers encouraged her to visit the king anyway.

Just as Arwen was preparing to go, her mother shared a frightening revelation. She warned her of a danger that could lead to her demise at the hands of the king himself. But fear didn’t deter Arwen. What followed was a tale filled with love, magic, and a happy ending.

Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey

In a place called Benden Weyr, there’s a girl named Lessa. People there think she’s just a poor girl who works in the kitchen. But she’s more than that. Her father’s lands were taken from him, and Lessa wants to reclaim what’s rightfully hers.

Then, something unique happens. Lessa meets a Queen dragon, forming a unique, lasting bond. This bond is powerful, especially now when their world faces a significant danger called Thread. Thread is a bad thing that falls from the sky and destroys everything it touches.

Long ago, dragons and their Riders protected the world from Thread, but there aren’t many left now. Only the Queen dragon can make new dragons, and she’s getting weak and might die soon.

Lessa knows she has to act. She risks her life and her dragon friend to save their world from Thread and keep it beautiful.
