Twisted Games by Ana Huang Overview:
“Twisted Games” is a fiction book about Rhys and Bridget. Bridget is a princess of a small state, seeking freedom and love. Living a royal life, which she doesn’t want, Bridget has to hide her feelings from her handsome and tough bodyguard, Rhys.
Rhys is a serious and ignorant bodyguard on a duty to protect the princess. Bridget’s heart sends him some signals, but the arrogant guard does not get connected. Rhys’ two rules (Always protecting the people and never getting emotionally attached) stop him from falling in love. These rules are the morals of the guard, and he never broke them. Although Rhys had no feelings for the beautiful princess, he didn’t know what happened, and the rules broke.

Plot Summary: (Spoiler Free)
Twisted Games” is the second book in the series, but it is much different from “Twisted Love”. Way more amazing than the previous book. Let’s begin the summary:
“But someone once told me we always end up where we’re meant to be, and this is where I’m meant to be. With you.”
Bridget is a princess of a small country, Eldora (Fake Country). She is not the crown princess so that she can travel to the US. Her elder brother is the next crown king. Being a princess, Bridget has a private bodyguard. The bodyguard’s wife is having a baby, so he has to go. A princess cannot walk around without a bodyguard, so the royal family arranges a new bodyguard for her.
The new bodyguard, Rhys, is tall, strong, young and attractive. It was not a good choice for the princess as he became a headache. Rhys is too strict a tattoo guy, being a rule follower as much as possible. His goal is to protect the princess, and he is ready to do anything to protect Bridget. Neither of the characters has a good start. He is very hard in his duties, and Bridget makes it as hard as possible.
Bridget is very friendly as she goes to college, while the guard every time with her makes Bridget uncomfortable in a friend group. Time passes, and they learn how to spend time and manage each other while staying comfortable. Even though their love is forbidden, feelings don’t take permission. Rhys is getting a bone in the love story as he has a rule not to get personally attached to her and take an interest in her life.
Bridget’s elder brother is in love with a girl and will marry her. The girl he will marry is not royal, so the king has to leave the crown to marry her. Bridget is now forced to return to Eldora and let her professional and royal life begin. She has to be involved in politics and gather the knowledge of being a queen.
The story burns too slowly; you get tension, nervousness and Ahhh!!! Why aren’t they getting together? The time is near, and Bridget is going to become a queen. According to Eldorian law, Bridget has to marry before she is to be a queen. Bridget is too tense. Her life has already changed. Now she is in a hurry to get a suitable man for her.
“You and me against the world, princess.”
The story continues with great twists, thrills, slow burning and a lot of romance. In the end, a great story and lots of writing skills are visible. Ready to go on your shelf? The story was really, really far more better than the first part.
My Review:
Huh, ready to read my experience?
Just wait, let me wipe my lips, Rhys’ name made them wet — the best character in the book, in the series and my brain. Rhys was just perfect, protective, charming and devoted to respect. The story was kept under the forbidden love trope which is really interesting and engaging. The author well executed the characters in the story.
Bridget’s character was amazing. She was a queen, went to college, had a bodyguard, awesome storyline. Bridget volunteered for an animal shelter which was so cute and pleasing. The plot felt sensible and the twists with a precise amount of drama and feelings made it to perfection. Extremely pleasant book with a balanced pace.
On the other hand, I found too much dirty talks, which may not be suitable for some readers or underage readers. The time jumps sometimes made me feel detached from the story.
If I consider the story in one line, I can say: adorable romance, fun, chemistry, tension, anger and rocking characters.
Overall, rating this book a 5/5 — it’s worth it. Don’t forget to read the full book, I have left many textures and twists for you.
