This book was a double dose for me; on one side, there is a top author, and on the other side, there is the one and only Elon Musk. The fascinating material of the book, including the author’s skill as a biographer, makes the book interesting and luring for the reader. Isaacson has presented Musk as a complex individual. He is neither judgmental nor forgiving. This allows the readers to gain a clear understanding of his character.
Reading the book proved that the author has done thorough research. The content is well-crafted. “Elon Musk” by Walter Isaacson gave me a broad and detailed insight into Musk’s life and struggles. Isaacson has avoided blind worship or purely critical takedown. This presents the author’s depth and Musk’s complex figure. The book provides knowledge about Musk’s early years, family background, and childhood. It was interesting and gave me insights that may need to be more readily available in news articles or other sources.
One of my friends felt that while the book offers detailed insights into Musk’s life, it provided only what could be gathered from his Wikipedia page. I don’t think so because Wikipedia does not go this deep, like his business talks and others. Connecting emotionally to Elon’s character and understanding him more can be challenging. Despite his flaws, Musk genuinely desires to improve the planet and humanity.
