Here we go, Ladies and Gentlemen!
Crescent City Series Overview:
The “Crescent City” series features a half-human and half-Fae Bryce Quinlan, who seeks revenge for her bestie’s murder. A demon killed her best friend. When the crimes do not stop, she teams up with Hunt Athalar, an angel fallen from the sky.
The first book uncovers the dark forces threatening Bryce and other citizens. Bryce Quinlan sighs and is determined to take revenge on the evil forces. The city has been covered by darkness and horrible shadows. Hunt Athalar starts helping Bryce in her journey against evil. The team-up changes to something deep, and they start developing feelings for each other.
The second book is a sequel to the first book, “House of Earth and Blood.” The previous characters, Bryce and Hunt, search for peace after their threatening and dangerous journey. They want peace, but they are not allowed. Their lives remain unsettled even after saving the Crescent City. The Asteri rulers promised to leave them alone, but the rebel activity threatened their power. Bryce and the team cannot stay quiet; either they join and fight against oppression or stay calm and bear the chaos.
The third book imprints Bryce returning to her home and family near her loved ones. She is lost and hopeless in a strange place. Hunt is in jail and can’t come and help her until he is free. In this sequel, Sarah J. defines the difficulties and obstacles in Bryce’s and Hunt’s life.
The author beautifully elaborated on this fantasy series, exploring loss, freedom, and love. The series is written from the third-person perspective, which is fantastic. You get a whole view of the characters and the scenes.
Genre:
The “Crescent City” series targets the Adult Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, and Romance genres. The series is not basically for Young Adults (YA), but the targeted audience is Adults. “Crescent City” also touches the Paranormal Romance and Fiction categories.
The themes include Magic, Danger, and Romance suspects. The angels and evil spirits marvelously imprint fiction.
Age Rating:
Here comes some confusion and some case dependency. The age rating and recommendation for this series depend on the type of person and the maturity level.
In fact, those aged 13,14 or 15 should not read this series even if they are okay with its content.
There are certain aspects of drugs, murder, romance, and party, which are overall suitable for mature ones. The fictional characters may be enjoyed by underage, but mental health and interaction with this kind of content at a young age is not recommended. 16+ will be a good age to go with the series.
Number of Books in the Crescent City Series:
Currently, the “Crescent City” has three (3) books. I first thought it would be a trilogy, and it became somewhat valid. But the recent news has revealed that “A CRESCENT CITY BOOK 4 IS COMING!” The series has not ended yet and will continue far.
Till now, the “Crescent City” series has the following three books:
- House of Earth and Blood” (2020)
- House of Sky and Breath” (2022)
- House of Flame and Shadow (2024)
It is predicted that the fourth book will be visible in the year 2025. I think CC will also have a companion novella; let’s wait and see.
Character Analysis:
The series offers a diverse range of characters, about 100+, including the ones that add no value. Such a large number of complex characters managed within a multiplex series is a round of a clause for the author.
The main characters that should be known before starting the series are:
Bryce Quinlan: A half-Fae, half-human creature slaying brutally after the murder of her best friend. Wife of Hunt Athalar. Appears in all the books of the series.
Hunt Athalar: A fallen angel. Hunt is immortal and has the power of lightning and absorption of energy. Mate and husband of Bryce throughout the journey
“I’ve got you, Sweetheart, I’ve got you.”
Hunt
Danika Fendyr: Best friend of Bryce. Danika was slaughtered by the enemies two years before the series started.
Ruhn Danaan: Bryce’s half-brother.
Ember Quinlan: Bryce’s mother (from the human species)
There are several other characters, but the necessary ones for you to continue are covered.
Best Reading Order and Sequence:
The “Crescent City” series follows a sequel and should not be read as a standalone. The CC book two follows the storyline of CC book one, and the same CC book three follows the storyline of CC book two.
So, the best option to read the “Crescent City” series is to read the books in the following order:
- House of Earth and Blood
- House of Sky and Breath
- House of Flame and Shadow
There is much possibility for a new book to cover up the series, and it will be the 4th one to fall under the list.

There isn’t much to say here. The plot twists and turns are easy for me to discuss here, but the real fun I had after reading in a sequence; I also want you to get the same.
My Reviews:
The first thing I want to say is Really Really Really Really Exciting Man!!!! A lot of thrill, a lot of action, love drama, fight, fantasy, fiction, and much more. The plot picks up considerably with unexpected twists and thrills. The modern fantasy setting felt very enjoyable. The start of the first Book, the ending of the second Book, and the plot of the third Book made my face like OMG!!
The character development, storyline and fictional world were designed amazingly. When I was to start the books, they seemed very, very long; they are long, but when I started reading, I was like bound to the Book. Two days, and I read 800 pages 🙂 You might be thinking I don’t do any work. I do, but the books don’t make me feel that two whole days are gone. Some dialogues were immature, but overall, the context was brilliantly written.
The slow pace and excessive swearing sometimes made me furious, but it’s part of the Book.
Overall, I rate this Book a 5/5 as the 500k+ more readers did (I also read reviews before starting a book). I hope you enjoy the series. I wish you the best of luck. I will meet you at the following review.
